Mash Mob: best of Belfast exhibition
I was invited to take part in a group show hosted by Mash Mob to showcase the best of Belfast illustration.
Alongside the likes of Oliver Jeffers, Barry Falls and Peter Strain; I contributed my John Coltrane piece which is now on sale in a limited edition.

I've been having a lot of fun recently using the Decim8 app for IOS: taking small screen shots of dodgy VHS oddities, feeding them through the app and seeing what comes out. Shame I can't really take full credit for these.
Boston/Maine 5am drawing
While visiting friends in Boston, myself and my wife hadn't counted on the horrendous jet lag that we would inflict on our 14 month old son Ivor. For the first few days, he was getting up at 3am thinking it was dawn and time for breakfast. He's quite a noisey eater so I had to saddle him up in his pram for a brisk walk around the neighbourhood to try and remind him that he should be asleep. This of course meant that I was wide awake with plenty of time on my hands. I started to take my drawing pad and a flask of coffee.
My first night in Boston was spent in a sports bar. As I have literally no interest in sports, this was an odd place for me to be until an half-cut Red Sox fan heard my accent and proceeded to explain how the American Football game on the 8 foot flat screen worked.
Again, such things sadly go right over my head (which is why I am a pariah in male drinking circles), but I was fascinated by the aesthetic of the game, the helmets and what not. I took it upon myself to learn about the scandal surrounding local messiah Tom Brady, or the excentricity of Odell Martin and create a series of illustrations based on these national heroes.

i trust i can rely on your vote
in the run up to the general election of 2015, i thought that seeing as the polls predicted a hung Parliament (ahem) then it would be good to do some illustrations on all the candidates. Now that the election has been and gone, these drawings are even more poignant as most of them are now politically obsolete.
